Joshua was born and raised in Dublin, Georgia. After completing his education and working for several years in Los Angeles, he decided to return home to Dublin to practice law with his family. His mother, Emily Kight, now practices real estate and probate law (The Kight Law Firm, P.C.), while his father, Billy Kight, serves as county attorney for Laurens County.
In addition to his legal work, Joshua currently serves as executive director of the Downtown Dublin Development Authority. Over the last five years, downtown Dublin has re-emerged as a vibrant cultural and economic area for the Dublin-Laurens community. Joshua enjoys working to continue the progress.
An alumnus of Laurens Leadership, Joshua has previously served as a board member for several local organizations including the American Red Cross, Keep Dublin Laurens Beautiful, the Dublin-Laurens Humane Society, and Visit Dublin.
He enjoys fishing, birding, and photography. His experiences on the Oconee River led him to join the Georgia River Network, the Altamaha Riverkeeper (ARK), and Rivers Alive.
Joshua, his wife, Victoria, and their sons, River, Silas, & Elliot, live outside of Dublin, with their dogs and chickens.
