Joshua was born and raised in Dublin, Georgia. After completing his education and working for several years in Los Angeles, he returned home to Dublin to practice law with his family. His mother, Emily Kight, now practices real estate and probate law (The Kight Law Firm, P.C.), while his father, Billy Kight, serves as county attorney for Laurens County.
In addition to his legal work, Joshua served as executive director of the Downtown Dublin Development Authority from 2013 through 2017. Over the last five years, Joshua helped downtown Dublin re-emerge as a vibrant cultural and economic center for the Dublin-Laurens community.
Joshua recently was named to the Dublin-Laurens Land Bank Authority, a new organization that aims to revitalize in-town neighborhoods.
For his legal work and community efforts, Joshua was recently named 2017 Businessman of the Year by the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce.
An alumnus of Laurens Leadership, Joshua has previously served as a board member for several local non-profits including the American Red Cross, Keep Dublin Laurens Beautiful, the Dublin-Laurens Humane Society, and Visit Dublin.
He enjoys fishing, birding, and photography. His experiences on the Oconee River led him to join the Georgia River Network, the Altamaha Riverkeeper (ARK), and Rivers Alive.
Joshua, his wife, Victoria, and their sons, River, Silas, & Elliot, live outside of Dublin, with their dogs and chickens.
